Big County Small Film Competition 2016
PLEASE NOTE, ENTRY TO THIS YEARS COMPETITION IS NOW CLOSED. LOOK OUT FOR US AGAIN IN 2017!
Congratulations to the overall winners of the 2016 competition with their film, "John's Story".
We are delighted to announce the creation of Big County, Small Films – a new short film competition for children and young people in Perth and Kinross.
If you go to school in P&K you can enter. If your school wants to make a film, that’s brilliant. If you and your friends want to make one for your school, that’s brilliant too. However you want to do it, you are invited to create a film to represent your school in the competition, with a chance to have it screened at the Perth Playhouse Cinema.
The Big County Small Films Competition is open to all pupils in primary or secondary education in Perth and Kinross. You can make any kind of film: If you want to make an animation, go for it. Action movie? Let’s have it. Horror? Bring it on. Do you have a Non-Fiction story that just has to be told? You have our attention. Did you make a film for a piece of course work? Then show it off!
The only restriction is that your film would be able to qualify for one of these if it was sent to the BBFC. There are four age groups – P1-P4, P5-P7, S1-S3, S4-S6. Entries will be viewed and a shortlist selected by an independent jury.
Shortlisted films will be shown on the big screen at Perth Playhouse Cinema on Wednesday 16th November, with prizes presented on the day for all four age groups.
