P1/2 - Term 2

Another super busy term has set upon us! This term our topic is TRANSPORT.

In maths we will be looking at money and time. In PE we are focusing on gymnastics and social dance, and of course we have the annual Dunbarney P1&2 NATIVITY to rehearse for! Bring it on!

To end last term we looked at the theories of what happened to dinosaurs... With one being due to volcanic activity around the time which could have caused a massive change in the climate that dinosaurs may have struggled to adapt too. From this we made our own volcano in class and carried out our own eruptions!

Maths!

We had a session of comparing the weight of different objects around the classroom to see which items were heavier. We worked in pairs and used our estimation skills before discovering the answer!

Physical Education

This term in PE we have been doing gymnastics. We started out by working in groups to create shapes. Can you guess what the shapes we are supposed to be?

Then we went on to the skills of balancing, jumping, travelling and rolling. Before putting them all into sequences. Have a look at some of our fantastic balancing skills!

Visitor!

We had a special visit from the SSPCA to tell us all about their job and what we have to do if we find an injured animal. We also got to try out some of the equipment that they use in their job.
