Welcome to the website of
Dunbarney Primary School
I hope that you find it useful and informative. The purpose of this website is to support children’s learning and keep parents and our community informed about and involved in the life of the school. Please click on the links above to find out more about what is going on in school.
The school serves the community of Bridge of Earn, 10 miles south east of Perth. There has been a school on the present site since 1874. The original school was built to accommodate 185 pupils and was refurbished and extended in 1996. In recent years the school roll has been around 200 pupils in Primary One to Seven with between 30 to 40 pupils attending our nursery. The present building has spacious classrooms and the children are able to enjoy a large playground and beautiful garden area.
We are in the fortunate position of having good links with our local community and supportive parents. We also benefit from an active Parent Council which supports the work of the school and funds this website.
Our house system promotes a sense of community and recognises and rewards behaviour and actions which respect the rights of others and promote our school values of Honesty, Ambition, Respect and Kindness. In consultation with the children we decided to name our houses after Scottish castles – Glamis, Drummond, Culzean and Urquhart.
We have an early morning drop off club available in school from 8am till 9am each morning as well as an after school club which collects children from school and uses the nearby Scout Hut providing childcare until 6pm each evening .
The school is committed to working in partnership with parents to provide an excellent standard of education which supports and encourages each individual to achieve their academic and personal potential . We are proud to be a UNICEF Rights Respecting School (Level 1).
We strive each day to live by our agreed values of Honesty, Ambition, Respect and Kindness
